Join us for a deep dive into the realities of being and becoming more intercultural in our habits and practices. Michael Jagessar will facilitate this interactive workshop using the lens of sacred text, theology and his own lived experience as a human of multiple belonging, and as a staff member of the United Reform Church in the UK.
For decades our churches and ministries have been bumping up against the messages ‘size matters’, ‘bigger is better’, ‘grow to survive’ while evaluating and discerning our successes and struggles… But what if those aren’t the messages God wants us – congregants, leaders, ministers, staff, youth, elders, friends – to pay attention to? When we turn to scripture and sacred story, God’s messaging isn’t about numbers or size – it’s that we are enough, just as we are. The Holy Shift Size-mic Upgrade Conference will live, work and play with this affirmation – aiming to shake the rhetoric up, discovering strengths and harnessing power as small and medium-sized communities of faith.
A partnership between LeaderShift and the Children Youth & Family Ministry Network of the Pacific Mountain Regional Council, this 2-day, in depth course is offered for all adults who interact with youth (and applies to people of all ages) at church, school, activities, social services, in families, with friends and in community.
