Developing Online Small Group Leadership Skills with Rev Rhian Walker [Sun Nov 22, 2020]

Small groups are places of depth and connection in our communities of faith. But now that we aren’t meeting face to face, how do we build relationships and intimacy for learning when we are staring at screens? In this short workshop, we will explore how to create engaging small groups for an online format.  Material covered will include how to create a format that builds relationships, exercises and techniques to try, how to manage pacing, and how to make Zoom work for you (instead of against you).

Let Go: Leaning into the Future without Fear with Matt Miofsky (Starting Nov 10, 2020)

If you are a member or leader in the United Church of Canada, you are experiencing familiar structures, expectations, and habits changing as we face massive shifts in our church and social and political orders. Pandemic, elections, virtual church - you can imagine roaming through the unknown, trying on different approaches. and searching for ideas to orient yourself. Where are we? Who are we? God is calling us to unfamiliar and unknown territory. Join Matt Miofsky, lead pastor of The Gathering to explore together God’s call to trust in a future we cannot fully see -- and to let go even more than we thought possible to rest in that trust.
