4 immediate offerings to learn, refine, and host online worship services and meetings

LeaderShift and the PMR First Third Minsitry Network worked diligently these past days to line up 4 immediate offerings for leaders in our church to learn, refine, and host online worship services and governance meetings with your Communities of Faith. There are 4 different offerings, each offered 2-4 times, at several different times of day next week.

Online Engagement Sessions - Equipping Community Gatherings Online, in the midst of COVID-19 (and beyond!)

This two-part online engagement session will discuss the Pros and Cons of live streaming vs pre-recording vs written reflections vs anything else we (the course participants) can come up with.

When communities of faith can't gather together in person, it necessitates changes to the worship experience. Live streaming your service might be the first option that comes to mind, but it's not the only one, and it may or may not be the best for you and your community.

Join Allan Buckingham, creator of Together We Worship — a resource targeted at communities of faith without ministry personnel — for a discussion of the pros and cons of various ways your community of faith might be able to worship. Options included will be live streaming, phone/audio only, pre-recorded video, text prayers and reflections and others. We'll also take a look at the basics of some of these options, so you know what you're dealing with as we discuss the merits for you and your community of faith.

Join Andria Irwin, Online Minister of HighlandsOnline.org and United Online, for a practical conversation around next steps in our online ministries. If you are already streaming your services live and would like to gather around topics such as how to better engage your congregation virtually, best practices around privacy and security, online giving options, visual staging and production quality, and volunteer/staffing for an online ministry then this conversation is for you! Gather together with Andria, and ask “what next?”

Join ConnectNorth minister Rev. Bob Fillier to fine-tune your online meeting experience. Learn more about how to use the tools within the Zoom™ software, to keep your meeting focused on the people and the topics – and not on the technology tripping you up.  Bob will help you move from the basics to an intermediate level of use, especially focused on Board and other governance meetings. Note: this online session is not for those interested in using tools for educational engagement, worship and large groups.)

If you're looking for a quick and simple, yet effective way to stream your worship service to the members of your community in this time of physical distancing, join Allan Buckingham from CnA media Consulting to look at ways to bring a familiar, yet different, Sunday morning experience to the members of your Community of Faith. This really is about a good quality worship experience with little to no technical know how or extra equipment. Duct tape may end up being involved.  : )

This Online Engagement Session is an exciting and important joint project of LeaderShift and the PMR First Third Ministry Network! Join Pacific Mountain Regional Council staff member Mauricio Araujo, or Regional Minister Pamela Evans, to get from “I have no idea how to start” to “Hey look! I’m ready to host an online meeting!” Mauricio and Pamela will cover setting up an account, and introduce the basic actions of scheduling a meeting, inviting participants, and beginning your Zoom™ meeting.
